Gods sense of humour has me in stitches! :)

I like playing on the pool table at church.

I particularly enjoy setting the table up and seeing how quickly I can clear every ball, finishing, of course, with the 8-ball.

A Time Trial, if you will.

My previous best was 1min 57secs, which I was pretty pleased with; that works out at an average of potting a ball every 7.8 seconds for those of you who like interesting facts. :P

Well, in a continued effort to improve my time, I set about doing so tonight, and had a few failed attempts. Having previously blamed bad choice of background music (chosen with the hope it would spur me on), I began to get disheartened as I was setting up the table again. This time, I turned my music off completely, but before I struck the cueball, I decided I was going to pray about it, so I set my cue down, and headed for the nearby sofa, the others present around me laughing at the thought of me addressing God with a prayer concerning my little personal challenge.

I took a seat and asked God whether or not I should leave the ball where it was, positioned on the right, or move it.

I clearly felt and heard Him respond,

“move it.”

Surprised but still laughing at my efforts to gain divine advantage in my sporting conquest, I headed back to the table, adjusted the cueballs location, and told my friend to start the timer.

…Let me tell you, God can be such a comedian, and I love Him for it! He teaches me to wait on Him for days, weeks, even years when I require guidance in life-changing matters, for He knows it breeds strength, resolve, patience and faith; but a simple (and somewhat light-hearted) plead for favour and advice in beating a previous personal best, and God responds straight away! Haha, our Lord is so great at highlighting why life can still be enjoyed when you live to glorify Him - it’s not all doom and gloom, as some people think! :)

Just thought I’d share on the off-chance it makes somebody smile. :)

…Oh, my new personal best is 1min 40.
