Our words dance in the air,
tiptoes between the molecules
that bring life to these lungs.
They say time leads to change,
and maybe that’s right;
perhaps the tick-tock of my body clock will rock
the things in you that shocked my heart into attention,
and soothe me with a lullaby of forgetfulness.
Too often have I fled in the face of challenge,
hoping that the days and weeks to come would
settle me back into routine
like nothing ever happened.
Time may change some things,
but doing something always changes time.
Not always for the better I admit,
but I am now learning,
to embrace when I’m distraught -
So I welcome the collision of human uncertainty,
and Gods will
with open arms and varicose veins.
I’ve found a spot,
permanent or not
I don’t know -
But I’m resting here.
Temporarily safe and slightly secure,
hidden from view,
occupying the blurring lines between your heart and mind.
Come find me.
