The fog is creeping near,
it’s clutching at my secrets,
and it whispers in my ear;
it tells of sad and lonesome things,
it shrouds the brightest light,
as fields illuminated
become captive to their plight,
my view reduced,
horizons lost,
perspective rare to find,
back and forth I go,
alone and slow,
a waltz inside my mind.
So will you sit by the swing with me?
We can converse the entire day,
there’s not room for two to fro,
but human heart beats translucent grey.
