I have been asked at short notice to teach a Music and then a French lesson for a Year 5 class this afternoon.

When a song has an amazing chorus/intro/bridge/vocal line/5-seconds of musical genius and you have to keep rewinding just so you can hear it again and again.
Unless like me, you have music editing software, in which case you extract and trim the section so it loops perfectly and then paste it repeatedly in a shiny brand new 3 minute track of sheer unadulterated awesome that melts yours ears and make you cry from your goosebumps.

I am also convinced that air drums/guitar to hardcore music while showering (literally and metaphorically) in the pitch black of night is a near-unbeatable form of stress relief.
Hey so, um, I kind of need a volunteer (or several) to give a listen and feedback to some little (honestly like a minute each) snippets of musical ideas & riffs i’ve created.
If you’re into hardcore/metal/djent, that is preferable as that’s the kinda vibe I have going. Not to exclude anyone else of course, but I figure fans of that style of sound will give me more detailed feedback, plus they’re the pickiest ears to reach - so for this one I’m afraid it’s out with Mumford and in with metalcore.

Home for some time with Farrah;
playing like a true djentleman, of course.
I learned that inadvertently sitting with your capo in your back pocket for 45 minutes can and will leave a capo-shaped dent of sizeable depth in the cheek of your buttock.
Also, prayer is an important and intimate spiritual act to cultivate in your walk with God.
But yeah, capo in butt cheek.
Enough waiting; Heaven knows this may be more anti-climatic than waking up thinking it’s a Saturday and it’s really a Wednesday.
Myself and another guy from the music team at church have been requested to be in the worship band at a one-off Worship Conference for Youth tonight, hosted at one of the town’s largest churches.
There are roughly 100 churches or so spread across the town, and for us to be asked when we belong to a much smaller Church is truly a great honour; there are numerous worship bands bigger in personnel and more ‘polished’ in sound than ours, yet somehow the two of us were chosen - make no mistake, none of this is bragging; God is so good and this is a wonderful opportunity to sing praise and minister to a multitude of young hearts!!
Oh, I know - “That’s it, Shaun? We waited all this time for that? I mean, it’s cool, but -“
Did I mention that the Conference has been organised and is being taken by interns from Bethel School of Ministry?
Bethel.
I will be spending this evening worshipping in person with people from Bethel, and I am blessed to be playing a part in the music that will soundtrack that worship.
Anti-climatic for you perhaps, but I’m just having all the feels over here right now.
Lord, You present me with such beautiful opportunities. Tonight is going to be AMAZING and You will move in hearts young and old alike. May my God-given gifts be employed by You to bring glory to Your name!
I’m honoured to have been asked to play guitar at a Youth Conference tonight; worshipping with a mass of young people and some visiting guys from Bethel Ministry!

Dear Mary and Steph (and other interested parties),
I finally got it to upload, although the sound and picture aren’t great and Youtube decided it fancied making a remix so about 27 seconds in, it glitches and I sound like i’m repeating myself (the only occasion to the best of my knowledge - see if you notice it!).
Aside from that, for those who don’t know, to summarise; it’s a video of me explaining an aspect of music I love so very, very much. I am by no means an expert on musical theory, but I wanted to try and communicate the original post a little better - I’m just going on what my ears pick out and heart enjoys.
If you could care less about how music is composed and/or my opinions on the matter, either give this video a miss or watch it silently and come up with your own narration!

When artists combine major and/or minor chords with opposing harmonies and melody lines so that they technically and theoretically dischord, but the combination totally works and it sounds amazing in a way you cannot quite explain?
That’s attractive music, right there.
